Basically we'll be practicing integration in class this week. There will be no class on Tuesday due to your field trip. Thursday and Friday will involve integrating ax + b and working with your calculator. But there are no real new ideas there. So mostly we will do problems in class. You should be working at your own pace to finish Chapter 21 before Spring Break (you can extend into the break if you want to, but I would strongly advise against it). When we return, we will begin on Chapter 22, applications of integration.
Also, don't forget, if you are doing the Circles IA, it is due, by email, no later than Monday, 3/13. Please attach a Word version and a PDF version of your work.
Enjoy your field trip - I will see you in class,
Mr. Alei

Thu 3/8/12: Discuss finding c from boundary conditions
21D: #1begh,2beh,3,4,5bcef,6cfi,7bc,8-13: Integrating f(ax + b)
Fri 3/2/12:

21E.2: #2-10 even & 9: Integrals w/calculator
During Spring Break:
Try to complete the IB Calculus Practice Problems from the handout. The markscheme is here. The first 20 problems are primarily based on differentiation. Try to get to a full understanding of those, using the text and problems from Chapters 18, 19, and 20 as needed. Problems 21-50 are more integration based. You should be able to do the basic ones pretty well based on what we've done in Ch 21. But don't sweat the applications - volumes, etc. Look at them, perhaps, but plan to do them after we begin work on Ch 22 upon your return.
For additional info on these and other topics, refer to the excellent online lectures under the Calculus section at the Kahn Academy.
